The Wichard Group released the latest products of each of its brands during  METS trade show last month.

  Wichard

This year the focus has been on safety equipment. The new “Proline R” with a releasable snap shackle has been launched. So has the  new automatic lifeline hook, which is a more compact and innovative version of the traditional life line hook. Find more information here.

       Profurl

It has been a big year for Profurl, especially for the NEX Hybrid furlers. Banque Populaire won the Vende Globe, and IDEC smashed the record around the world in just 4o days. The Pornichet Design team have been busy designing a new generation of motorised furlers. The new electrical and hydraulic range will be available in Australia around March 2018. Top Bluewater yards like Amel and CNB are already using them on their new boats. More news coming your way early next year.

Facnor

Facnor didn’t just equip the boat that broke the round the world solo with Thomas Coville. Half of the Transat Jacques Vabre fleet was also equipped with Facnor furlers. The popular FX+ continuous line range is adding a ratchet option on the 1.5T model which is great news for the 30 to 40′ boats.

Sparcraft

Sparcraft was involved in the design of the rig of the new Figaro 3 in conjunction with French carbon mast manufacturer Lorima.  The mast manufacturer released two new mast profiles. Also the Canoe booms have also been successful with big production boats such as the big Lagoon Catamran or the latest  Oceanis 64.

 

 

 Tye Tec

The innovative German company Tye Tec, just released their new jammer.  The clutch allows you to reduce your rope diameter to an absolute minimum while increasing the stop load. The 2 models will take rope from 5-6mm and 8-10mm diameter.

In terms of durability the clamp has been manufactured 100%  from aluminium and stainless steel. The unique tilt mechanism stops the rope as soon as you release it from the winch and allows the precise trim of the sails
